Works ok, although you need to be very careful not to snag softer material. The plastic one snags a bit less than the wood one, and has some nubs on the other side to brush loose stuff off, instead of being double-sided of the same tool. I used it on an alpaca wool blanket that was pilling, and it made it wonderfully soft again, although it did knock one thread on the edge because i wasn't careful enough.
